Many of us have preconceived ideas about how the baby making process should go. You might expect it to happen right away, or maybe you’re hoping to conceive in the most natural, intimate, and romantic way possible. But for lots of people, things don’t always go as planned – and our bodies might need a little help. That’s where Mosie Baby comes in.
One of the most common first steps for people struggling with infertility, and for LGBTQ+ couples - is artificial insemination (AI). AI is a clinical term for placing sperm into a the reproductive system, without intercourse.
There are two primary insemination techniques - intracervical insemination (ICI), and intrauterine insemination (IUI). ICI is the process of delivering sperm directly into the reproductive tract, at or near the cervical opening. IUI involves putting sperm directly into the uterus using a tube that goes through the cervix.
When considering insemination, you may or may not know, that you can actually do intracervical insemination (ICI) in the privacy and comfort of your own home. For some, using an at-home insemination kit, like Mosie, can be a cost effective option.
