Hi everyone, we wanted to be proactive in letting you know that if you’re an iPhone/iPad/AppleTV user and have recently updated to iOS14 - you may be experiencing unusual ad patterns in Facebook and other social media platforms.
This may include:
As a brand that’s always put our community’s needs first and foremost, this is a concern for us. The last thing we want to do is show ads to folks that aren’t open to seeing them. We can’t stand overreaching, annoying ads that don’t apply to us either 😠! And we realize how emotional the TTC process can be, which is why we’re putting this statement out.
Why is this happening? There’s been a lot of back and forth between Facebook specifically and Apple. According to Apple, it’s all about protecting privacy and giving you options. We are by no means experts, but we’ve done a little reading and you can find Apple’s explanationhere. The way we understand it to work is much like websites that show ads asking you to “accept cookies” (or not) in an effort to show ads relevant to your browsing history. Now, when you download an app that shows ads, you can opt in or out of letting that app track your browsing history, which in theory results in more relevant ads to show. If you opt out of this option, your ad experience will be different than it has been in the past. If you opt in it will remain unchanged.
As we learn more, we will take every measure possible to be as considerate as possible when it comes to who sees our ads. At the same time, we hope that bringing this to your attention will help you understand this change in our digital world!
Thank you! ❤️
