Infertility is a Journey, Not a Destination

My husband and I tried for 3 years to get pregnant. The journey has been exhausting, frustrating, heartbreaking and also very enlightening. We have truly come to understand that infertility is a journey, not a destination.

The journey of infertility for me started at an early age and prior to meeting my husband. I was diagnosed with endometriosis at the age of 16 after undergoing my first laparoscopy surgery. I was informed by my OBGYN about my condition and was later informed that I may have infertility issues upon the time that my future spouse and I would decide on wanting to conceive a baby.

When I met my husband and we decided to be married, he was very understanding and supportive of wanting to have a baby. When my husband and I decided that we wanted to start a family, I stopped taking all hormone therapy medications and I had two laparoscopy surgeries within two years. We tried naturally for a year, and were unsuccessful with conceiving.

While browsing the internet for fertility options, I came across an article about the Mosie Baby at-home insemination kit and thought we would give it a try. After trying Mosie Baby for approx. 3 cycles, we were unsuccessful at conceiving. At this point in our journey, we decided that we may need to look into other options. I had a third laparoscopy in hopes that the surgery would help with my endometriosis pain and further detect any other fertility complications. After having the third surgery, we did 2 rounds of IUI, that were also unsuccessful. MY OBGYN informed us that after trying two unsuccessful IUI's, we should meet with an infertility specialist.

After seeing an Infertility Specialist and doing one round of IVF, I am happy to say that we are finally pregnant! :) We are so excited and overwhelmed with such joy for the opportunity to welcome a beautiful baby into our eager and growing family!
