On September 20, 2019, we decided to grow our family and try for our third child. We just assumed it would happen quickly. We conceived our first child with little to no effort, and our second came three months after our son was born, so why wouldn’t this one be the same?
After a year of trying, we decided to see a fertility specialist. They ran many tests on the both of us, and while some came back not so great, there was still no reason why it wouldn’t happen naturally. We moved forward and tried IUI. After 7 failed attempts, we felt defeated. My husbands count was declining quickly, and apparently my ovarian reserve was diminishing earlier than expected. At this point, he didn’t even have enough to do another IUI. We only had 22,000 motile sperm, and if you know the numbers, that’s incredibly bad.
On September 20, 2021, two years to the day we started trying, the doctor told us the only way we would ever conceive is through IVF, and that we needed to act quickly. We immediately proceeded with the process. The day before signing, we had a change of heart. We just didn’t feel it was right. After all, we had a beautiful son and daughter, and if God wanted us to have another, we would. At this point, I tried not to obsess over it. It was 2.5 years of trying, and I just assumed it would never happen.
One day I was on Facebook, and someone mentioned they used Mosie. I had never heard of it and decided to research what it was all about. I showed my husband, and we thought, why not!
The first attempt was a huge fail. We were so nervous, we ended up making a mess of things. We decided we would give it a total of 3 tries (not including our clown show the first time). Our third and final try was on our 10 year wedding anniversary. We went away and enjoyed a beautiful weekend at the beach, and to be honest, I wasn’t expecting it to work, but we did it anyways.
On September 20, 2022, three years to the day of trying, and one year to the day of the doctor saying IVF was our only option, I received a POSITIVE test! I couldn’t believe it was actually happening. I am now 15 weeks pregnant with a little girl all thanks to Mosie!
