HSA/FSA eligible. Why test for ovulation? To have confidence that you’re timing your insemination at the right time of the month and (fingers crossed!) make a baby. Luckily for us, the hormone that predicts ovulation (LH) can be measured in your pee - hurray! Each kit gives you 7 tests, so you have a full week to pee on tests!
Simply pee on the test directly for 10 to 15 seconds. If you prefer, you may collect your urine in a cup and dip only the test portion of the stick into the urine for 10 to 15 seconds. Put the cap back on the test and lay it flat. Results will be ready in 3 minutes.
Mosie Baby Pregnancy Tests, Mosie Baby Ovulation Predictor Kits, and The Mosie Kit are eligible for reimbursement through most FSA & HSA accounts. Lubricant may also be eligible, but only with a doctor's note (this applies to all bundles with lubricant as well).
While you cannot use your FSA or HSA card to purchase Mosie Baby products at mosiebaby.com, all you have to do is order the item you want and submit your receipt to your provider for reimbursement.
Before your body releases an egg from your ovaries, it will increase production of a hormone in your body called the "luteinizing hormone", or simply put "LH". This rise in LH before the egg is released from your ovary is called your "LH surge" and it's a predictor that ovulation is approaching. This is the optimal time to inseminate with the Mosie Kit or get it on with your lover!
Luckily for us, the hormone can be measured in your pee - hurray! The Mosie Baby Ovulation Test is designed to detect the LH surge through your urine. If there is enough of the LH detected in your pee, you will see a positive on your test.
With ovulation tests, it is best to not use first morning pee (as is recommended with pregnancy tests). For best results, test at the same time every day after the morning hours. Try to hold your pee and reduce liquid intake two hours prior to testing.
Before you begin testing for ovulation, refer to the “When to start testing chart” included in your instructions. For reference, ovulation frequently occurs about 14 days before your period starts if you have a 28 day cycle. If your average menstrual cycle is 28 days then your most fertile days are days 12, 13, and 14. We’d recommend starting testing on day 10 or 11 for a 28 day cycle. If your average menstrual cycle is 35 days, ovulation can happen around day 21 and your most fertile days are days 19, 20, and 21. We’d recommend starting testing on day 15 or 16.
When you see a positive result, we recommend inseminating with the Mosie Kit or having intercourse as soon as possible - within 24 hours if possible. Then we recommend attempting a second time within 36 to 48 hours of that positive result.
